SPECIFICATION / Hammer ® - Coal Fly Ash

Coal fly ash is one of the residues generated in the combustion of coal, and generally captured from the coal-fired power stations. Depending upon the source and makeup of the coal being burned, the components of fly ash vary considerably, but all coal fly ash includes substantial amounts of silicon dioxide (both amorphous and crystalline) and calcium oxide, which is commonly used to supplement Portland cement in concrete production so that both technological and economic benefits can be generated, and it is increasingly being used in the synthesis of geopolymers and zeolites.
